This is the most recent comment on a post down a bit, I figured it's point I'd like to keep around for a bit:
""Jason said...
I both agree and disagree with Shaz; woman do tend to love geeks to an extent, but that doesn't actually imply attraction or anything that's particularly helpful for a guy.To take the Superbad example of Evan, pretty much every girl in the theatre had the same sort of "awww, that's so sweet/poor guy" style reaction to the scene where he goes off by himself to get drunk so that he won't be taking advantage. I'd be willing to bet a relatively small percentage of girls in the theatre would say that particular character is attractive to them or someone they would consider dating though.""
Shaz's comment for those who havent seen it can be read a few posts down, figured it was a bit too big to put it all here. But basically said, chicks dig geeks.
What I also must add, is that Evan from Superbad wasn't entirely your stereotypical geeky kid either. Mostly because his character was specifically written to be liked. Geeks are often the best freinds of girls, the ones who the girls think are gay and had no chance at all with them. But I'll leave that open to debate if you like

First of all, it's probably not a good idea to look to the movies for a realistic point of view on life and love. The movies are there solely for entertainment, to provide us with an escape from our reality. Sure, there are lessons to be learned from the movies and advice that you can take from the message, but the characters aren't real. They are simply an amplification of a stereotype that movie goers love to get behind or hate. The outcome is determined by what the writers think people want to see.
"Women love geeks" yes that is somewhat true, there’s just something about them. More correctly though, as Sean said, "Women love confidence" You have become so much more confident in yourself over the past year or two and it shows (either that or you're a good actor). That is why you’ve become such a chick magnet ;-). People naturally gravitate to a happy person who looks like a bit of fun.
As for the “Geeks are only the friends of chicks” comment, well you’re probably right there. But that could easily be changed with a bit of confidence and of course if there is any chemistry there.
A happy person?? I'm certainly not in that kettle of fish... I don't even know what that saying really actually means... but it holds.
Ok i haven't been on blogger for a while and i have just read all the comments and posts.....
summing up what seems to have become quite a discussion, Geeks are cool in their own way. And i have to disagree with the comment about geeks being more suitable as a friend than a boyfriend, at least in some cases! :P Intelligence is very sexy, and as long as the geek isn't a "Steve Urkel" wannabe, most geeks will find someone special, and that doesn't necessarily mean a "ugly Betty" either.
Believe it or not, there are still some people out there whom look deeper then the outside appearance when choosing a partner, and a lot of "geeks" are kind, funny, and very considerate, which is while most "beauties" are friends with them in the first place.
Attractive guys (in most cases) come with an attitude which is cocky and off putting, and are so in love with themselves that there is no room for anyone else. And yes i realize this isn't the case with all hotties, take Chris (Rick's friend) for example (all the girls know whom i'm referring to :P) but sadly in a lot of cases it is. So yes, in response to Sean, women love confidence, but not too much. I would always choose compassion and consideration over confidence, but a little of each would be perfect :)
So summing up Steve Michael, be yourself, which includes all your geeky, confident, sexy, intelligent, funny, and sweet qualities you have, and you will find your perfect match.
